On March 21, World Forestry Day, February 6 Earthquake Martyrs' Memorial Forest was created in Manisa, as well as in Turkey, in memory of the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. Managers and employees of Manisa Grandmedical Hospital participated in the event, which was supported by various institutions and organizations and planted saplings.

In the memory forest, which was created on an area of ​​2 hectares in Bağyolu District of Yunusemre district by Manisa Governorship and Forestry Management Directorate, 4,000 saplings were planted in memory of the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. Speaking at the event, Manisa Governor Yaşar Karadeniz said, “The memory of earthquake martyrs will be kept alive here. It is very important not to forget their pain and to remind us that we should all take precautions as we see the forest," he said.
SUPPORT TO THE EVENT FROM GRANDMEDICAL
After the speeches, Manisa Deputy Mufti Ramazan Arba prayed for those who lost their lives. Various public institutions and organizations as well as students of some primary and secondary schools attended the meeting of the saplings in the Earthquake Martyrs Memorial Forest with the soil. Grandmedical Hospital Chief Physician Op. Dr. Mümtaz Kahya attended the event with Hospital Manager Mehmet Başaran and some employees and planted saplings.
A TOTAL OF 4 THOUSAND SEEDS ARE PLANTED
The sapling planting ceremony was attended by Manisa Governor Yaşar Karadeniz, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Cengiz Ergün, Manisa CBU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kazaz, Yunusemre District Governor Atilla Kantay, earthquake victims who came to Manisa from the earthquake region, department managers and students attended. Manisa Forestry Operations Manager Fatih Öztürk said that 4 thousand saplings consisting of stone pine, blue cypress and black cypress species were planted on an area of ​​2 hectares.
