About the Branch
Neurology examines the anatomical and physiological features of the nervous system and its disorders and clinical syndromes that occur for various reasons. Today's scientific developments are naturally reflected in neurology and subdivisions of neurology have emerged. Well-organized neurology departments are the organizations that can create this structure. Diagnosis and treatment of various neurological diseases can only be done by the neurologist group that can realize this cooperation in the best way. Grandmedical Neurology Department continues on its way with this understanding.
Advanced laboratory studies make an important contribution to modern medical practices. The laboratory has an important place in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. The radiology department, which is very important especially in cerebrovascular diseases, provides uninterrupted service. CT, MR, Angiography, interventional neuroradiology applications have an important place in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. The EEG Laboratory, where wakefulness and sleep EEG tests, which are important in the diagnosis of various diseases, especially epilepsy and consciousness disorders, are performed, the all-night Sleep Laboratory used in sleep disorders, and the EMG and Stimulated Responses Laboratory used in the diagnosis of nerve and muscle diseases constitute the main laboratories of the Neurology Department.
Brain hemorrhages, headache, dizziness, occlusive cerebrovascular diseases (strokes), movement disorders (parkinson, essential tremor, head and hand tremors..), muscle and nerve diseases (muscle wasting, muscle weakness, Nerve damage and related numbness in the hands, tingling in the feet, balance disorders..), epilepsy, alzheimer (dementia), multiple sclerosis, services are provided in our hospital.
Follow-up and treatment of our patients are carried out in the intensive care unit in serious conditions that endanger the patient's life, such as coma, progressive stroke, and frequently recurring seizures.
When necessary, examinations such as cranial tomography or magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, extracranial doppler (extracranial vessel examination) are applied to our patients, and the results contribute to the follow-up and treatment of our patients.
ENMG (electroneuromyography), which is a dynamic diagnostic method, is performed in our neuroelectrophysiology laboratory to evaluate neuropathies that mostly occur with complaints such as hand and foot numbness and in the diagnosis of painful conditions such as low back and neck hernia.
EEG (electroencephalography) examination, which is used for differential diagnosis in many diseases of the central nervous system, especially epilepsy, can also be performed in our neuroelectrophysiology laboratory.
